Gerry,
The car is fine forward of the rear doors. I replaced the windscreen last year, because the pitting was so bad, so it has less than 20,000 miles on the glass. It would actually be an easier removal than an original, I bet. But is it worth it? I recall paying $250 for the install, including new OEM glass.
Swedish Motors is in Marietta, PA, just west of Lancaster. See: http://www.swedishmotors.com You'll have to wait until the insurance adjuster is finished with it before Swedish Motors can officially take over and part it out, but I suppose you could get first dibs. It is good forward of the rear doors (except for the driver's seat) so there is plenty of front end engine and dash parts, plus all four of those rare '98 wheels. I believe it could be started and driven but for the rear tires locked against the crushed bodywork.
I miss it. Yesterday I was looking at all sorts of cars, all probably safer and more economical than the 9000, but none had the cavernous capacity mixed with seat comfort and sporty driving at all-'round 29 mpg.
The Lexus IS 250 is interesting....
Fred
