I have same problem from time to time

It is completely random in my 98 CSE. CD and tape work fine, but no radio at all. Not even static.
I pulled the radio out several times, disconnected all wiring harnesses, checked wiring under front seats, etc. Nothing really works. On my car, seems to be worse when the car sits unused for a few days and also in the hot weather.
One thing I have had a little luck with was is removing the small faceplace (not sure if you have it)...the keypad thing. I remove it, clean the contacts on back with a soft cloth, and sometimes (like 1 out of 10 times), it works again.
If I still can't get it to work, I wait a day or two and try again. Then it works fine.
If you search, some have suggested a fuse on the back of the head unit, but I don't believe this is the problem as the CD and tape work fine, everything lights up, etc. I suspect a bad wire somewhere, maybe a ground problem. For the cost of a repair from Saabradio or somewhere else to diagnose and fix it including labor ($2-300), if it gets worse or I can't stand it anymore, it's cheaper to get a whole new headunit IMHO.
Let me know if any of the keypad trick works for you.
