I don't believe there is a vent. At least I don't recall seeing one when I had mine apart, nor is there anything that looks like one in the manual. The oil level is designed to be pretty low and it could be the relatively high ratio of air to oil inside the case doesn't result in a big pressure buildup with temperature changes. Neither of mine leak out the dipstick. My 88 has a screw in plug type and the 89 is push/pull.
