What Saab did was to supersede the old ECUs to the newer ones when they came out so a 93 will work in a 92.
During those two years it was three different part numbers,4159182-->4300075-->4300539 and which finally, all were changed to 30547249
The 94 and 95 use other and seperate part numbers.
One thing to keep in mind is that sometimes a newer partnumber easily supersede backwards in years, but that doesn't mean you can take an old partnumber and use in a newer car.
In your case though you are going the right direction with a newer ECU in an older car.
