Dead Battery or Dead Car???

Last night I could not start my ’96 CSE. When turning the key the instrument panel flashed once and then the whole car went electrically dead. Even the little red light on the dash went out. Figuring my battery was dead I tried to jump my car. When hooked up to the jumpers everything electrical worked and the engine would make a very weak attempt to start but nothing more. 30 minutes later after trying multiple connections and attempts I called it a night. This morning I am getting even less response. Usually you’ll get a little spark when the jumpers are hooked up but today nothing. It was like the other car wasn’t even there. I connected and reconnected multiple times so I know the connections were good. Please help. Thanks
