To the delight of my kids, my 1993 CSE completed its first 1/4 million miles. Sadly, I think it will make only the tiniest dent in its second 1/4 million miles. Car performs well, but the blue smoke is back. Bar's Leak Smoke-Away contained it for a few months. Today I added another dose, we'll see if the car gets to be smoke-free again (it has a bad valve guide seal). Meanwhile, its over due for an emissions test, which it will fail, smoke visible or not. But with no headliner, door panels and window switches "modified" by same kids in earlier days, whistling sunroof that doesn't close all the way, inopperative SRS, a cracked windscreen, dead EDU display, failed A/C, a turbo that is intermittently failing to base boost for short periods of time, and ALL those miles on the 5-Speed transmission with the original transmission fluid still in there (no convenient or official way to drain it!!), plus the TCS "feature", I think its time to transition over to my 1995 CSE with 130,000 miles, and say goodbye to what must be the best Saab ever made. What a great car it was.
