Could be the Crank Position sensor. There are a lot of electrical things that get hot and stop working.
If you have a bucket of cold water handy, or a hose, (a hose is better), run some cold water over the CPS if the car won't start. On your car, it's located behind the main pulley (lowest pulley on the engine). A hose works best because you can direct the water and not get all the belts wet. You don't have to drown it, just get some water on it to cool it off. If the car starts up, I'd suspect a bad CPS.
Beyond that, I'd run a No Start check after the car dies. That post is floating around. It could be a lot of things, from bad relay contacts on up. A bad contact has resistance, and current flow causes it to warm more, causing more resistance, causing more heat.... until the resistance is too high to allow the current to flow. Things that come to mind are fuel pump relay. But cool off the CPS first, then try the No Start tests.
