and distort out of shape. The ground connection to the bulb is made through the bulb holder/retaining springs and this connection looses integrity. If this happened to you, then you may want to try tweaking the springs to get a more secure clamping action, but if the bulb holder is severely distorted then th only fix is to replace the bulb holders. The dip-beam bulb holder is held in place with 3 small torx screws and is easy to replace, the high beam holder is held differently and I'm not sure that it is replacable. Fortunately high beams are used less than dipped beams so the problem is less common for high beams.
All of the above applies to European H1 style bulbs, I think the US/CAN market uses a different type of bulb so this may not be true for those markets.
