I assume you have a 2.0 L engine from a 1986-1990 car. I remember having to remove the engine mount bracket to get the socket head cap screw out. The screw just holds the dipstick in. The o-ring provides the seal. To remove the bracket put a block of wood on a floor jack and slightly lift the engine. Remove the mounting bracket, although you may be able to just remove the bolts to the engine, and leave it attached to the motor mount.
The o-ring can be obtained at almost any auto parts store. Take the old one up and have them match it for size. If the o-ring breaks, take the dipstick up and have them find one from an assortment that fits it.
If the dipstick tube has no attachment point on the intake manifold, my first question is, where did it go? The tube fits into a simple bracket. If it is unattached now, does the tube just float free? Excessive free movement could crack the tube. If there is really no bracket, look for one in a junk yard, or use a couple of tyraps to hold it in place.
