The tranny oil has to be drained to access the screen and magnet. There is a recessed allen head drain plug on the right (passenger side) of the lowest part of the transmission case, below where the drive axels leave the tranny. Best to drain from there first, or you will get a flood when filter cover is removed. Also, removing the plug drains a little more fluid. The filter and magnet are above a circulair cover on the bottom of the tranny. Remove the 3 small cap screws and carefully pry down the cover. The magnet is in a rectangular recess in the cover, don't loose it as the remainder of the fluid bails out. The filter is held in with friction from O-rings, to remove it carefully pull down on one of the plastic pegs protruding from the bottom of the filter. Some small debri in the filter and on the magnet is normal, numerous chunks and particals larger than 1/16 inch are cause for concern. An undamaged and cleaned filter can be reused.
