OK, so i've done some investigation of my TCS problem. I got the car back from the dealer who said there were no fault codes in the system. First thing I did was repair the cruise control set switch.
Simple fix: Popped off the on/off switch, pushed out the set switch and found that the metal "set" contact pin was missing. Replaced the pin and she's all go.
I then disconnected the ETS system and began measuring according to the TCS manual. Everything appeared to be within specification, or very near to it. I plugged the ETS back in and turned on the ignition.
Now i'm getting 5 flashes ot the ECL at start up - indicating the throttle position sensor.
I've checked the safety and control valves, both read ~30 Ohms. I checked the pedal potentiometer and this also appears to be fine. The one thing I have found is between pins 2 and 4 (I think... don't have the manual on me on the throttle position pot I get around 4V at idle (correct) and it goes down to around 0.2V at full throttle.
Here's the problem... when I release the throttle the voltage only goes back to around 0.8V. The mechanical parts appear to move freely, but now i'm thinking there may be something inside the TB.
The symptoms I have:
a. Hard throttle.
b. TCS light (Not TCS Control) comes on during even slight acceleration.
c. ABS CTRL light comes on during driving.
d. At times the TCS CTRL light comes on - not often.
I'm just considering whether to take the car back to the dealer and have him take a look with the ISAT and pull some codes off of it, or whether to go for it a clean up the TB myself.
Any ideas?
Thanks....
