...with a rubber mallet, or your fist, or something similar. Pound on the tank right below where the fuel pump sits.
What you're trying to do is to jostle the pump off a dead spot -- these can develop over time and if the pump happens to land on this spot when it's shut down, it will not restart. Banging on it can get it off the dead spot so that it will do its job next time you start the car. If this works, it will get you by until you get the pump replaced, which you should plan to do sooner rather than later.
