Hello old friend!

i'm sorry you didn't get an answer to your question! I haven't been on saabnet in months, I've been busy with other areas of life i suppose.

Something told me the other day that i should check, and i've been answering posts that have also gone unanswered like yours has.

this is very comical to me, as the drivers side power mirror on the carlson literally fell off the other day, not the whole thing, JUST the peice of reflective glass.

it completely detached from the heating plate. How about thaT?

My solution?

it was to remove the whole mirror mechanism from the door entirely, and replace it with the one from my other 9000.

It's a very straighforward job, and it just so happens that i have another drivers side mirror, if you need one.

You pop the black plastic cover off on the inside of the door, just the little piece by the top right corner of the interior door panel, you don't need to take the whole door panel off, but you can if you feel like it.

There are three screws, bolts actually. 10mm i think, or maybe 11mm...

remove them and then unclip the wiring harness which will be down inside the door panel a ways, but i could unclip mine without removing the panel, it's up to you.

then, the whole mirror will pull away from the side of the door. Reinstalling the other mirror in reverse takes about 5 minutes, and you get your heater again!

I drove around without a driver mirror for a few weeks until i got the courage to try to replace the whole thing, but it's a snap, really!

how's thingS?
