I dunno..... Posted by vtsnaab [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Peter Ingram Getting Ready to Switch Brands (LOOONG)..., Peter Ingram, Wed, 21 Feb 2007 16:31:24 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Sounds sketchy to me !
I left Saabs once for 10 years - drove a very young Toyota Camry
rather than my very run down old 99, and got 2 more the same as
time passed and I wore 'em out.
The whole time I was missing driving a Saab !
Say what you will, other cars are nice enough, but after getting
used to a Saab nothing in the cockpit is ever in JUST the right
place - it is like being in the twilight zone, everything is just
a little off.....
I have heard so many horror stories over the years about Bimmers
that I always wonder if they are the perfect consumer-mobile; Audi
I give credit to because they went from being a nightmare ride to
a highly regarded and dependable car after their years of having
become known as second worst electrical system in any car - 2nd
only to good ol Lucas electrics, that is.
I have driven and been driven in a lot of cars and I know if I
was facing the same decision or thinking as yourself I would take
a deep breath and re-consider; and if the same answer came, I'd
re-consider again, simply because if I found myself taking my leave
of the 9KT while there was still a way to have one, I would know I
was bound for irreconcilible disappointment, and so therefore I'd
also know I was thinking erroneously.
(Especially knowing that 9Ks are only really 'broken in' once
they've crossed that 200k boundary....)
But that's just me, and everyone is different.
My brother drives an 8 cylinder Bimmer and loves it - but he also
only goes about 20 miles total each day, and on flat pavement.
(I'd hate to have his car here in Vermont !)
No matter your ultimate decision, I will be VERY jealous of your
'old' car's new owner, and of course I wish you well and thank
you for your helpfulness and valuable part of our community here !
