I have been stuck here in a refinery since Jan. 22. Was supposed to be here only 10 days my return home kept being extended. Finally I hope to board the plane to get home Wednesday morning. I've had constant internet connection inside the refinery but I was so busy I didn't have time to check the bulletin board. This past Sunday I worked the 5th consecutive 7/12 week. There have been too many -20 deg C days and packed ice working seems a good escape.

Over the period I was driven back and forth by a driver between the refinery and the hotel so I did not see much of the country. Working 12 hours a day also means my commute is done not during daylight. I would have thought SAAB would be popular being built not too far away and also suited perfectly for this climate. But I've seen only two SAAB's on the road. One was a 9-3. Another a dated 9k in the refinery parking lot. VW is by far the most popular brand here. Audi, BMW, Skoda, Peugeot, Opel, Mercedes, Volvo and even Toyota are common. But not SAAB.

Looking forward to going home.
