I have to wonder as I can't say for sure, could it be controlled with something else. I mean an on off switch or some such if the power transistors keep burning up. It's always the ground(black wire) that melts the most. Maybe a high amp relay like a starter relay from a 9-3ss. I have never gotten a straight answer from saab about the lack of current carrying ability in that curcuit. Resistance causes heat. Check the grrrrounds as our Irish tac consultant used to say.
