Vehicle: '92 9000T 175K miles. Slushbox with TCS/ETS.
Fixed a small vacuum leak that'd probably been there for a long time (crack in a vacuum hose in a very inobvious location.)
Now the car surges and stumbles at idle, will stall if I let the throttle close quickly.
My best guess is that the last time the electronic throttle was recalibrated it had the vacuum leak and it 'learned' the higher airflow, now that's been taken away and I need to have it done again.
I suppose I could temporarily create a vacuum leak until I get around to having someone plug in and pull codes on it.
Y'know, there's two unfortunate parts to owning this car.
For late-model Bimmers the AutoEnginuity package with the BMW for $400 will do everything the dealership MoDIC will, and for Audis you've got VAG-COM for something less than that, but good used ISATs still seem to go for 3x that and a Tech 2 with the Saab bits over twice as much again. I don't like having to shoot half a day taking the car to a shop for something I could comfortably do myself in half an hour.
And the local dealers mark up parts to a degree I've just *never* seen from anyone else. Well, I've never bought Ferrari parts, and I'm sure the only reason the BMW guys don't try is that there's enough competition that they can't get away with it, but...
