Starting taking apart the ol' 86 today in anticipation of slapping on the new-to-me front end... Still haven't fixed it from the accident.. but will soon. Obviously!

So, yeah. I got some stuff out, but I'm kinda stumped (kinda). I only worked for about forty-five minutes assessing damage closely and taking some stuff out.

Here's my question: How the heck do you remove the rad support? I see the four bolts on the top (two on either side) and I've disconnected them and all in between, but there is still two metal parts running up from seemingly behind the bumper (only one of these metal parts is still connected, but w/e). Anyways, I spot some bolts on them but they seem to be finished over (i.e., I tried to get them off but they seem painted over and everything).

The real question is: Do I have to remove the bumper to get at this? I would have no problem just taking it off, that is, if I had a comp gun or ANY sort of high rev tool. All I've got now is a simple ratchet set, so I was a bit hesitant to remove the bumper. Last time I took it off I had a gun and it wasn't a problem at all.

That's basically it. Once I do that, I'll remove the radiator, but I'm not sure how straightforward that is. I suppose I'll give it a go and see what happens, then post and let you guys know.

Also, someone riveted the DS headlight in, which I just noticed. That's pretty odd.

One more question: I'm fairly certain (but not totally) that there is no reason the power steering should be extremely low as a result of this accident. It looks like nothing was severed with that, but I can't really tell where that runs.
