the tranny doesn't have to be in 4th gear if you remove the 2 10mm nuts that holt the rubber pinch clamp together...4th gear is only necessary if you undo the ring clamp 13mm.

when unbolting the tranny don't forget the tranny/engine bolt located under the exahust cat. hard to see and easily forgotten...you'll curse for hours if you don't get it (sometimes you gotta just bit the bullet and undo the downpipe from the turbo)
