I have a '95 CS LPT Automatic. The cranksahft seal went and the car was driven, still contained oil, but only a quart or two. The car is relatively quiet upon startup, but under higher RPM/higher torque i get a pretty good rattle. I've just had the tranny rebuilt 2 months ago. My indie is telling me to get a new engine, that rods are the cause of the rattle and would require a complete rebuild. Is there another possible explanation? It does not misfire, other than the rattle,no other indicator, no knock at startup. Does not sound like new, but not bad either.
thanks for the help - david
