last year when my original hoses were leaking. I had known they had a slow leak for years. I would put in 1 can and it would blow cold for about 2 weeks, then stop blowing cold but still kick on the compressor. Scared me that it was doing that so I just replaced the hoses, evacuated and refilled. Strangely enough when I refilled the (empty) system, it STILL kicked on.
You definitely have a leak. If it's worth it to you, get new hoses.
