I really think you need to put a calibrated gauge on the thing to know what it's really doing - on my first 2.3 fpt automatic the needle went into the stripy orange mid-section, on the present one it goes into the red, but I reckon they're just as fast as eachother. But what you say sounds right enough to me, for both base and full boost. More important is the way the boost is cut, IMHO.
