Hi, Am looking to renovate the front suspension and engine mounts of my 9000 Aero MY97. It has approx. 220,000kms or approx. 137,000 miles on the clock and feels like it needs a littl work. The car has run a MapTun Stage 4 for the past 4 years and prior to that was running the Abbott Racing Aero Upgrade (aroun 260bhp) of rthe previous 4-5 years. I have had the car since almost new (acquired with only 6,000km on the clock). The car already has the Powerflex poly bushes for the front wishbone rear bushes and front and rear roll bar bushes. These have been in place for around 5-6 years and figure should still be ok. From my research the front suspension bushes and engine mounts to be considered are:
1. Lower Front and rear hydraulic engine mounts
2. Upper engine mounts or torque arm & bracket mounts
3. Gearbox mount
4. Front wishbone bushes
5. Roll bar drop link bushes
6. Front anti roll bar end to drop link bushes
7. Steering Rack Bushes
Questions I have:
1. Are these all the relevant bushes to consider replacing?
2. Which of the above are more important to consider replacing?
3. I am wary of poly upper engine mounts. Don't wish to introduce additional engien compartment noise into the cabin. The Saabsite web site (thesaabsite.com) has what they call "soft" poly upper mounts. Anyone had any experience with these. My current thinking is to stay with the std rubber mounts.
4. What are the forums views on polys for the front wishbone and drop link bushes?? Should I stay with the std rubber untis for these??
Cheers Tony
