Fat side towards the control arm. There has been some discussion about noise generation (squeaks and creaks) from polyurethane bushings, especially the Mission Trading Company ones sold by eEuroparts. The consensus has been to lubricate the interface between the central tube and the polyurethane bushing with silicone grease. The Super Flex bushings come with a tube of silicone grease.
Some people have cut narrow slots in the bushing material to retain more grease, and I recall one person putting in a Zerks fitting so that they could use a grease gun to keep it lubricated.
