For the sake of the non-UK readers of this post - There are Saab forums over here (UK) but the depth of knowledge, willingness to help and number and speed of response is why I would always go to Saabnet for help - and in turn why I like to return the love when I feel I can help.

I imagine that in the US the Saab 9000 is considered more exotic compared to the UK where French, German, Swedish etc cars are commonplace and therefore attracts more enthusiasts than over here.

The Saab 9000, or any car of its age, is considered as just an old car (not old enough to be considered a classic) by the passer by as you can pick up a nice FPT for £1000 here . Good example - I was once complimented on the condition of my 12 year old FPT and then the guy said "Are you an enthusiast or is that all you can afford?".(Sigh) So I guess that is why there are so many more helpful folk on this board who have such detailed knowledge of these very fine classic cars?

I have been restoring and riding classic Lambretta scooters since the late '70s and it was the same situation then. You could pick them up for £30 ($45?) and people thought you mad to spend time trouble and money on "a rusty old italian moped".
