Tools needed - torx driver, small allen wrenches, small flat blade screwdriver, pad to kneel on.
Push the seat all the way back. Pull the steering wheel all the way out. Undo the four torx screws under the 'clamshell' surrounding the steering wheel. Notice where they come from -there are different sizes.
I recommend removing the ground wire on the battery negative terminal. I don't like playing with switches and metal tools with the power on.
Insert the key, and turn the wheel 90 degrees to the right. This will uncover a clip holding the upper and lower portions of the clamshell together. Undo the clip with the flat blade screwdriver. Turn the steering wheel 90 degrees to the left - undo the other clip. The bottom part of the clamshell will fall off (you may need move the lever). You'll see the ignition switch - it's a black box on the back of the key. There are two small allen screws pointing straight down, right where the switch meets the key cylinder. Loosen (don't remove) the allens - the ignition switch will drop (held up by wires.)
Use the flat blade screwdriver to carefully release the clips enough to get the cable/connector off the switch.
Installation is the reverse of removal.
Believe it or not, it'll take less time to do it than it took to read it. The most you might run into is a little bit of struggling getting the clamshell clips off, and then getting the plastic bits lined up when putting it back together. And be careful removing the connector from the switch - you don't want to break the tabs holding it on.
