Flame On!!!!!!! Got it home and WOW Posted by sirjamed [Email] (#956) [Profile/Gallery] (more from sirjamed) on Fri, 13 Jul 2007 10:09:39 In Reply to: Re: '91 9000T - Roasted front right & need to fix - Help, Ari [Profile/Gallery] , Thu, 12 Jul 2007 20:00:32 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Thanks Ari
My Dad and I put it on the tow dolly and got it home. Popped open the hood and nightmare visons of a burnt marshmellows at the campfire came to mind.
The fender inner liner is gone, expansion tank and other fluid resevoir destroyed, tensioners deformed, charcoal canister looks untouched, top of injector lines crispy, oil dipstick top melted, ABS relay box top looks like it was wrapped in Saran Wrap, and most of engine bay covered in black suit.
The drivers side engine bay components look fine except for residual dirt, debris, etc...
The rest of the car is cherry. No rust anywhere(pans,trunk,doors), interior (headliner, carpet, seats, etc...) is clean except for driver's seat bolster. We feel it is worthy of time, energy and funding (boneyard & DIY equity). But as a newer Saabophile, I can't help but feel the potential futility as shorts and connections mire us down despite best efforts. To the salvage yards we go........
P.S.
On a scale of 1-10, your numerical perspective would be appreciated
1="don't even consider it"
5= "Ambitious and do-able but think twice or more"
10="worthy & not regrettable"
