Even if i'm not a regular poster anymore I still have been lurking this board almost on a daily basis for years now.
So I wanted to say goodbye and thank you all, since I've sold my 1995 9k griffin.
....replaced now by a 99 9-5 SE. It will take its place next to my 9-3SS company car. So I'll stay in the family, but will leave the 9000 behind (foregood?)
I really, really wanted to return to an I4 turbo version, but it is sad to see that the 9-5 versions are suffering from black sludge and it proved really hard to get a well-maintained 2.3t that was guaranteed to be sludge-free. It really struck me how many of these cars are being advertised as 'engine changed at xxx miles' . Now you won't see that with the 9k's ,even at high mileage.
So, when I got a super-deal on a relatively low-mileage (95k) 3.0t, super clean, full dealer service history I could not pass. Of course I know this engine, but what a difference it makes to have the turbo in there and the DI/ T7 engine management couples to the AW gearbox! makes for a totally different car.
storage space in the front is lousy though.
So... thanks for all the company during all those years. I daresay this is one of the nicest communities you will find anywhere on the net!
