Question on the bost capsule that provides the mechanical control of the wastegate on the turbo. Not having pulled one apart can someone explain to me it's constituat parts. I know there is a spring (differing springs available depending on desired pre-load), there is the control arm. I suspect my unit may be playing up. It is an Abbott Racing modified unit (different spring I guess) and is approx. 7-8 years old. Physically looks like the standard Saab part. I am also aware the APC valve/solenoid valve (mounted to top of radiator) senses boost levels and provides signalling to ECU and ECU provided signalling back to valve which then controls boost levels via the boost capsule. I have found the lower RPM is lagging. Noticed that my fule consumption has gone up (up to 10% on long trip) as a result of more throttle required for same performance levels. Wondering if it may be the solenoid valve??? Any ideas. My 9000 is a 1997. BTW, have checked operation of the wastegate it it seems ok. Chrs
