Thought I'd take a look at my daughter's '91 today to see if I could diagnose a long running boost problem. It has been running at base boost. I checked fuse 5 and it was blown. Replaced it, turned the key on and it blew again. Replaced BPC Valve (it was bad- vastly different ohm readings on the 2 posts), replaced the fuse, turned the key and we're good. Take it down the road and it's boosting right to the red but there's a horrible squeal or whistle while boosting. I only took it about 1/2 mile but now she begins overboosting. Get it back home and, sure enough, BOTH the BPC and fuse are now blown again! As I understand it, the blown BPC causes the fuse to blow, correct? I wait 'til it cools, take the boot off the intact side of the turbo figuring the squealing is the blades, but no- it spins smoothly and with no play. I've already changed the ECU and the DI/APC box too. Oh, and hooter valve 2X. I don't feel like throwing another BPC in there if there's a chance it'll blow that one. What can I do next?
