I have done this on several cars I've had and most recently it was
done for me by my indy on my daily driver.
There have been different variations, and all have included some
form of home-made or aftermarket mount.
The rest has all been stuff from the shelf at the local parts store;
pipe, clamps, adaptors - even the hanger.
The cost and installation has been minimal, and the best advice I'd
share would be that if you have an air powered grinder like the
small die grinder I use, that you merely remove the resonator and
connect/clamp together the rest, having measured the distance you
need to 'cover' beforehand - then just re-use the top parts of the
mounts and make it all match.
I was lucky when my local parts store had a bolt-on mount kit that
even used the same rubber pieces.
Replacing the useless resonator as well as the overly fragile OEM
flex pipe with inexpensive stock items have been nearly as happy
for me as putting the $1.75 light sensor in the clock module for
controlling the too-dark EDU properly....easy and inexpensive VS.
pricey and short lived, a no-brainer in my opinion !!!
Good Luck !
