well last night I removed my center muffler from my 94 Aero. This looked to be a simple DIY job but I just want to give a word of caution for those of you looking to do this. I picked up a piece of Pipe from napa I grabbed a piece that fit over my tail pipe, cut the Bosal center muffler out and was going to just clamp on my nw piece. Well my Bosal Muffler pipe was not round, more like oval, and size was all over, one end was about 2 inch and the other 1 1/4, my tail pipe was 2 3/8 so my pipe did not fit. I ran back to the parts store got the next size smaller and now it was too small for one end and ok for the other except the Bosal pipe was more oval.
Anyway if you can't weld I would not recomend this as a DIY. luckly I can weld and got it welded on but more then likely I will when time permits make a whole new center pipe from cat back from 2.5 pipe since the Bosal piece changes size like crazy!
as for sound, i don't notice any difference in sound except no pinhole leaks now.
