I would think a 93 CDE in good shape is probably worth in the $1500 range. If yours has been sitting for two years, you're certainly going to need to replace your brakes.
You MAY have issues inside the engine if the oil was not drained before prolonged storage. Your AC system will probably need some attention, which could get expensive. Tires will be rotten most likely.
At some point you'll probably exceed the car's value if you restore it; on the other hand you might consider it worthwhile as you say since you know the car. From my perspective I'd rather find a running example for similar money.
Rick, on your 94-into-93 powerplant swap, just a reminder (if you were not aware already) that you will also need the wiring harness from the 94 car, and the ECU. Engine electronics are not interchangeable between these two years.
