Just saw one yesterday at Ecology in San Diego.

The Griffin is *exactly* like the 1992 9000CDT auto, as far as the engine and transmission are concerted. The 1991 is also the same, all have the DI/APC that can be chipped for more hp and torque. Saab kept the hp and torque a little lower on this engine to keep from tearing up the automatic transmission.

Basically any mods that are available for the engines of the 91 and 92 turbo work, and the exhaust pipe for those years and possibily 93 too.

I have a couple of each, never got a Griffin edition but the only *actual* differences were, plaque denoting which one of the 400 made this car is, leather seats with some suede inserts, BBS wheels, Metalic Green paint, and the Clarion stereo 6CD changer in the trunk. I think you also got a special road side assistance too. I hate cleaning wheels so went to Aero wheels on my CD's, purchased the 6CD changer and plugged it in (car is prewired - no marry or unmarry necessary either), Green is an ok color wish there was a Silver, happy with the all leather seats, know were I can get parts (from a Griffin!). All in all it's a nice car but know you can source parts from any 9000CDT auto directly.
