TSN to the rescue once again!

Once again I jump into a project without enough knowledge. I have a 93 CSE non-turbo automatic that had a delayed 3-4 shift. I read many posts and it seemed to point to either a bad spring in the valve body or an improperly adjusted kick-down. I tried the kickdown adjustment first and it did not seem to solve the problem. I knew I had an Erikkson tested valve body from my 88 sitting in my shed. I pulled the cover and replaced the valve body with my 'known' good one. I put it all back together and went for a test drive. I shift to reverse and the car goes forward. I shift to Drive and the car goes forward but only in 1st gear. I decide that the valve body must be different and pull it apart and re-install the original. I test drive and quickly realize I still only have 1st gear. OHHHHHHH NOOOOOOOO!!!! What have I done! I frantically go in the house , get on TSN, and start searching on valve body. It doesn't take long and I find a thread mentioning only 1st gear after replacing the kick-down cable. I read the replies to discover that you must put the car in Drive 1 before putting the valve body on. Last night I pulled it apart again and re-installed my 'known' good one. I am happy to say I am smiling once again. Thanks TSN and all the folks that make this site what it is.
