I'm not 100%but I think this is an 'O' ring leak...

...The problem is that the fans blow the grean crud back towards the engine, so if the leak is at the crimp, it might blow towards that area. It is just that there is so much green accumulated at the area where the hoses are held to the compressor that I wonder if new A/C 'O' rings are in order.

What is nice is that th rings are cheap. You wil need to such the system vacuum, but harbor freight has a system to do this for you and it costs 20 bucks with shipping. Then just use a refill kit bought at Target or at your local parts store.. MAKE SURE it contains an oil. (I am assuming you converted to R134a. If not, you need to go to a local parts store and spend $$$ for the proper R12 oil and the proper R12.
