The clunk is definitely related to rotation of the wheel. One clunk per. I did not see anything rubbing, or scraped, in there on the wheel or rotor, or for that matter on the old bearing. What else is turning?? Does weight change things?
What is the anti-rattle spring, is that the same as pad retainer spring? That seemed fine when I removed. There is another spring on the bottom of the caliper that I did not inspect.
I replaced the rear exhaust while I had the car up. This is not an irregular sound, definitely related to wheel turn.
Yes it does go away when brakes applied, and seems to go away with increased speed. Increases with outside turn.
