Another Remote Starter Install

Last winter I installed a remote starter in my 93 CSE turbo automatic. It took some time before I sorted out where to make connections, etc. I finally got it functional and it was a joy to have during the winter months since I have no garage. I decided I would do the same thing to my 93 CSE turbo 5-speed. I bought a remote start kit designed for manual transmissions and went at it. I wired it all up and the only additional wire necessary was one that goes to the e-brake. I hit the remote start button and the lights flash but that's it. Four hours later I was still scratching my head trying to figure out my problem. I read the manual and finally realized there is a preparation routine that must be done to ensure the car is safe to start. It all makes perfect sense now. When I followed the procedure everything worked as it was designed to. I also like the fact that I now have remote lock/unlock as well. Hopefully, I will appreciate my efforts all winter.
