I just did a replacement on the outer tie rods, and had the same problem of the nut spinning the shaft upon tightening.
I suspect the tie rods (8993453T) I bought may have been supplied with the wrong size threading. I tapped the shaft down to secure it down into the taper but it still spun as I tried to turn the nut in. I used the old nut to draw it in fully, and tried again, but when I tried again with the new replacement nut, same thing. I ended up reusing the old nut for now, until I could determine what's actually going on with the new nut.
It didn't have any nyloc inserts or anything, maybe it's intended to be an interference fit- but it just wasn't possible to get it more than a few threads in before it just bound up like it was cross threaded which wasn't the case (both of the new tie rods exhibited the same problem)
Last time I got a different part number, 8962250F, and had no problems, so I think the wrong nuts may have been supplied with the other part.
