19943 and 1994 9000 CS and CSE models Posted by Bill Homer [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: CS's have TCS?, adamK, Fri, 26 Oct 2007 06:29:04 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have a 1994 9000 CS turbo - it is a full power 200hp turbo, the same as a CSE turbo, and it thankfully does not have TCS (this was a purchase criterion when I was looking)! The major difference between my CS and a similar vintage CSE is a different clock, and velour seats with manual adjustment vs. power seats with leather - my car came with the sunroof that was optional on CS models as well as an optional rear spoiler. My seats are not cracking because they aren't leather (a common ailment on a 14-year old car). Oh, since it weighs a bit less, it's probably faster than a CSE too (especially after a few mods that I did).
The 1993 and 1994 CS and CSE models were available in Normally Aspirated (N/A), or with the full-power 200hp turbo an option on both models. I have no information on the CD and CDE models, but assume similar option structuring, with the "E" being the more deluxe model. My understanding is that all turbos came with TCS manditory for 1993, but TCS became an option for 1994 models.
The low-power 170hp turbo (LPT) started in 1995 and was standard on the CS cars - no more N/A cars after 1994 in the US. CSE cars got the 200hp turbo standard in 1995 - 1997.
