If the sprocket that you saw with missing teeth is the one that drives the balance shafts (and that's the one that is known to fail on 1991 to 1993 cars), you may not have trashed the valves and head. It's possible that the balance shafts got out of phase, causing the vibrations, before the chain got "displaced".
If you got very lucky and there is no MAJOR damage, you may be able to pull out the balance shaft chain and block off the oil-fed tensioner port with no further work (do a search on "balance shaft chain elimination" or similar). The car may run with a bit more vibration, but it will run. This requires removal of the front timing cover, but not the head. Caveat: I have never done this, but have read about it here.
