I havn't posted in forever but I now have a major problem I need some advise on. About 3 weeks ago my fuel pump died, my mechanic replaced it and the car was fine for about 9 days. One morning after a very rainy night it just won't stay started, it chugs and sputters and dies after about 20 seconds. So my car is dead...again. Mechanic says must be water in the fuel. So I run the fuel out, this takes 4 days sitting in the driveway trying to keep the car started. Finally I get it towed, it comes off the truck, starts no problem. So I get the car, mechanic says that moving the fuel around mixed up the water and it was fine. He changed the fuel filter and sent me on my way. Well the car never drives right after that, doesn't want to shift, tries to die the whole time and it just very strange. 2 days later it dies on me again! Get it towed, this time he puts in a new fuel pump because the moisture in the fuel ruined it??? changes the DI cartridge, new spark plugs, cleans the injectors....BUT tells me the problem is the tranny going out? Ok, so why does the car want to die out when I am stopped at light and NOT moving, not changing gears. Would the fuel pump problem cause a tranny problem...94 9000 automatic. HELP
