all:

this is my first winter in a 9000, after 20 winters driving C900s. so far i cannot figure out how to duplicate this scenario in my 1998 9000CSE:

it's nighttime, i'm a bit tired, and i need to stay alert, but i don't want to drive with my parka on and zipped up. so (in the 900) i direct the heat to the floor and adjust the temp via the rotary blue-to-red dial, and at the same time i have the center vent in the dash open, to direct a stream of unheated fresh air at my face. in this setup the rest of me is warm, but my face gets a blast of cooler air and it helps me to stay awake.

in the 9000, i have only the one choice of cabin temp, and where it gets directed, right? or is there a way to mimic what i described above? i really like the cabin-temp setup of the 9000 for all other situations, but would welcome some way of doing this winter workaround.

i'm continuing to love love love the 9000, although i still think that the 92 and the C900 3-door are the most beautiful body styles saab ever created.
