Get an indy to look at it and give you an estimate. Ask him to price it based on some used parts, like the ABS unit.
CV boots are a standard thing to repair on any FWD car. The rear main seal is iffy, but look at it in terms of what else the car really needs, the cost and whether you can get another car for a price you can afford. And what the price difference is.
As for the head, my indy (a very good shop) thought the head on a '95 9K I bought for my daughter was leaking. I agreed. But when I cleaned the engine I found the leak was the valve cover gasket and a seeping heater hose. It was just so gunky it looked like it was the head gasket. Maybe you have something similar.
Don't give up quite yet. But DO get away from the dealer. he really wants to sell you a new car, or at least a new used one.
