Adding resistance in the NTC sensor line (blue wire, pin 6, I think) will make the controller think the seat is colder than it really is, which would keep it on longer. Alternatively, you could pop open the controller itself, and change the value of one of the resistors there - make the setting "3" hotter.
If you were modifying the wire, you don't need to add much resistance - the sensor kicks off around 80 degrees, which is in the 500- 1000 ohm range, so you'd probably be adding a few hundred ohms.
What I don't know is if the heater can be run continuously. I don't know how hot it will get.
I do know what you mean about hot. The 9000 gets hot, but not overly. My VW Jetta seats have 5 settings, and 2 on the Jetta is about 3 on the Saab. Setting 3 on the Jetta will render lard, and setting 4 puts me in danger of spontaneous human combustion. I don't know what 5 will do - it has me scared.
