Josh,
The turbo isn't just a bolt-on part. It is intimately related to the car's computer system and the rest of the engine.
A turbo motor is a low compression engine. The compression ratio is increased by the high pressure air supplied by the turbo. The non-turbo (called normally aspirated or NA) is a high compression engine. Add a turbo and the compression goes way up. While it will make a lot of power, it won't make it for very long. You could have quite a spectacular engine explosion. (Think blown head gasket, rods through the block, lots of noise and smoke, shattered pistons.)
There are lots of parts in a turbo motor that make it work that aren't on the NA engines, such as the oil sprayers that shoot oil on the underside of the piston crowns to help keep them cool. I suspect the pistons, valves and head may be different, too. Then there's oil and water lines to cool the turbo, the over-boost protection, a new intake system, and more. The turbo cars are really quite different.
You can get a used turbo engine and ECU (computer) and swap it with a LOT less effort and money than trying to convert a NA car. But there are still a whole bunch of things to think about if you want it to be successful and reliable. But that's still a major undertaking and will NOT be cheap.
IMHO, you are better off selling your car and getting one with a turbo, a CS model for example, then building from there. (All the turbos have the same engine. It's the ECU and the type of turbo, that make the difference in power.) Then keep coming back here as you get it the way you want it to be.
