Two things putting mine back together... Posted by SaabDork [Email] ![]() ![]() |
Hey all, putting my engine/trans back in after replacing the auto trans flexplate due to rivet failure and it separating and on start-up finding out that my rear main oil seal (which I replaced when the trans was separated) is leaking badly :( I am so bummed! Never have I had an oil seal leak after putting it in--there's always a first... Now the engine/trans is coming BACK out.
Any advice on installing this seal? How far to tap it in, etc.? It didn't seem to have a pronounced flange like many others do to prevent over-driving into the block. There is the possibility that I installed it backwards, but won't know until I do the inspection.
ALSO, anyone want to part out the headlight adjusting screws on the back of the assembly since the plastic part that holds the headlight in position cracked when I leaned on the front of the car during this whole installation episode!! Can't find any on eeuroparts.
Thanks,
Jeff.
