As Yaofeng says, the jack fits under the metal lip at the very back (closest to the bumper) edge of the trunk. You need to collapse the jack down as far as it will go, and use the lifting part to engage a tang on the metal edge that sticks out from the chassis. To be really fancy, slightly open the jack to lock it in place. I just wrap the jack in a plastic garbage bag to keep it from ratting. And having an extra garbage bag to knell on when changing a tire helps.
For the jack handle, I place it alongside the tire, on the left side (facing forward. It will fit in between the tire and well. It is necessary to have the spare as far forward and to the right as possible. For the jack handle, I have some pieces of foam pipe insulation on the handle to keep it from rattling.
It is tight back there. If you have a tire over normal diameter (e.g. wider but still the same aspect ratio, etc.), it gets tighter even.
