Hi All,

After a little over 7 years and 110k miles, I will be selling my much loved Aero and moving on. The only real reason is that I fancy a change - and I am satisfying a lust that I have had for a few years: an Audi S8 Final Edition. It's a monster of a car - I hope my lust turns to true love over the next few years.

I will be advertising my car shortly when the weather allows me to valet it and get some good photos, but I am in no real hurry, and want it to go to an enthusiast. In summary, it is a 97 black over cream Aero with 165k miles, Maptun Stage 3, JT downpipe and sports cat, 3" custom Hayward & Scott exhaust with oval tail pipe, Elkparts strut brace, Abbott poly on anti-roll bars and wishbone butterflys, forge recirc dump valve, silicon vacuum hoses all round, brembo iron discs and EBC Red Stuff ceramic pads, Vrederstein Ultrac on original wheels. VERY unusually, I have a full main agent Saab service history. The interior is in fantastic condition, with the extended walnut trim (including original maple gear knob), electric glass roof, in dash CD AND boot changer (never fitted...). Run on Optimax and V-Power for the last 7 years, and only Mobil 1, and only hand washed. I have ALL receipts and history. In my time it has had (in no particular order) new water pump, new fuel pump, new clutch, new head gasket, new front strut, and some other stuff I can't think of right now. I love it - it is a special car.

I have been looking for a new car for a number of months, but it is absolutely true to say that there is simply nothing on the market that compares, and provides the same balance of speed, economy, comfort, good looks, individualism and practicality. The S8 certainly ticks a lot of boxes, but not all (I will be forced to buy a roof box...and an oil refinery!)

Anyway - sorry if this reads like an advert: it is not meant to be at the moment.

I have yet to find a similarly well informed Audi forum on line (but the S8 is not much of a DIYer...!), but will keep trying.

I will look in from time to time. If you have any questions about my car, let me know.
