You need to use a removal tool to "unlock" it while pushing it out from behind at the same time. If you have the Saab tool, it will also help pull out the unit, but with the standard DIN removal tool or a homemade one, you'll need to push it. The stock radio also needs a tool to remove it.
What the tool does is basically unlatch it so it can be removed. The Saab tool has special hooks designed to pull it out once it's unlatched. Make sure you push the tool in far enough, you should sort of feel when unlatches. Sometimes they are stuck in there pretty well, so don't be afraid to push hard and wiggle it a little bit.
